TWO thousand sixteen was a great year for me, personally. I checked off a lot of big bucket list items, including crashing into the love of my life (hey Chris) which can only be described as [finally!] the right timing. I took on many new and exciting personal projects. I completed an immersive photojournalistic photo essay in Italy, I taught my first hands-on photography workshop to aspiring adults, I traveled to India and taught marginalized children how the art of photography could help them experience their world differently. I keep coming back to these four things as my favorite highlights from last year… hooray for heart-hugging-adventures, challenging me to the core.
On the professional front I completed an incredible year with wonderful clients. I photographed weddings, portraits, engagements, editorial photos, and much more in New York, California, Mexico, Copenhagen and Paris. Each of these experiences have stretched and delighted me. As long as I’ve been doing this now (11 years!) I feel as if every time I lift my camera I am seeing anew. Always some new factor to consider in the creation process and I am continually grateful that this is my life and my work.
Each year I look forward to what the new year will bring. So many unknowns and hopeful intentions. This year of 2017 has already guaranteed to take me far and wide like the last. Hello London/Paris early spring! As well as other destinations still in the works.
I’m excited to be calling San Francisco home these days and look forward to celebrating love and people here on a more regular basis.
Here are some of my favorite photos of weddings, engagements, proposals, elopements, portraits, headshots, celebrations yougettheidea..
